The freshest version of the Ribera del Duero

Hito Rosado 2018

Details of the harvest

The 2018 production was characterised by heavy winter rainfall which filled soil reserves. A late spring and shorter than usual caused late bud ding. A dry and hot summer balanced the harvest growth cycle. Harvest began in October and good weather allowed harvesting to begin at the optimum moment of ripeness.

Tasting notes

Pale pink in color. Clean on the nose with crisp red fruit aromas and subtle hints of citrus. Fresh and well balanced in the mouth with a medium bodied lingering finish.

Hito 2016

Details of the harvest

2017 has been an atypical vintage from the offset, with abnormally high temperatures at the beginning of spring which caused early budding. The most notable weather anomaly was without doubt the frosts at the end of April which affected many vineyards in Ribera del Duero and considerably reduced their production. Summer arrived hot and dry, helping to regularise the plants which, thanks to the low production, did not suffer excess water stress. The grape harvest was early, hot and dry, which guaranteed an exceptional state of health and optimum ripeness levels.

Tasting notes

Dark cherry red in colour, with an intense, well defined bouquet. A base of black fruits typical of Tempranillo, ripe, but not in excess, combines with subtle toasted and balsamic ageing notes. Well-structured in the mouth with ripe, rounded tannins and a long finish.

Malabrigo 2015

Details of the harvest

Higher than average temperatures from April until the second half of July favored a good growth cycle of the vine. Scarce rainfall in July helped to overcome the high seasonal temperatures. After the veraison the cool night-time temperatures were very notable meanwhile the daily temperatures were on average 25ºC. This situation favoured enormously the ripening process and brought forward the harvest and as a result an extraordinary harvest.

Tasting notes

Intense cherry red colour very characteristic of this wine. The 2015 harvest is a full expression of intense aromas, great personality and subtle notes. The characteristics of the tempranillo that are expressed from this terroir in such a special manner meets the winerys expectations once again. In the mouth full bodied and well structured ripe tannins with a long finish.

Cepa 21 2015

Details of the harvest

Temperatures were higher than usual in the months of April until mid July, which provoked  a great development in the vegetative cycle. The occasional rains helped to over come the high temperatures of that time. Once the colors of the grapes changed, night temperatures dropped significantly while diurnal temperature variations averaged 25 Degrees Celsius. This enormously helped the maturation of the grapes and resulted in an extraordinary vintage.

Tasting notes

Colors of dark cherry with a high concentration. In the nose the wine shows the characteristics of the vintage well, with ripe red fruits, paired with subtle oak and balsamic notes. Powerful in the mouth with well structured tannins and full bodied. The finish is long and lingers on for a good amount of time.

Horcajo 2014

A wine 100% Tempranillo raised to the maximum expression.

Elegance and complexity define this first vintage from one of the most special plots of the winery, the Horcajo. A limited production with great aromatic potential.

Details of the harvest

An over the average rainy year and a spring influenced by the high temperatures that favored the vegetative cycle of the vine. During the summer there were slightly higher than average temperatures and little rain, but thanks to the cool nights the vines did not suffer too much stress, which greatly favored the complete aromatic and polyphenolic maturity. The benevolence of the climate favored an early vintage which prevented the October rains from affecting the health of the grape.

Tasting notes

Very intense cherry red color that has hold the aging time well. The nose is extremely elegant and complex with a mature base of black fruit, enriched in nuances by the time in the wood, the aging time defined this Horcajo 2014 until getting the best out of its vintage. In the palate stands out its balance and warmth with a long and persistent aftertaste.
